The Air Cadet League of Canada (Manitoba) Inc. will hold its Manitoba Air Cadet Homecoming Gala Dinner on Saturday May 8, 2010 at the Marlborough Hotel. This is the League’s second annual fundraising dinner in Winnipeg’s most spectacular Skyview Ballroom. Last year, the record attendance at the dinner and the auction items from Advance Electronics and Peerless Garments funded ten major awards, bursaries and scholarships. The five course dinner prepared by the Marlborough Hotel was rated one of the best on the fundraising circuit by many of the guests.
The Guest of Honour is Fred Penner, who was appointed Honorary Air Marshall by the Air Cadet League of Canada (Manitoba) Inc. in 2009 joining General Walter Natynczyk who was appointed in 2008.
The menu includes tomato and basil bisque, California salad, salmon served with pesto cream sauce, grilled lemon chicken breast, fresh asparagus, honey dill baby carrots, oven roast chateau potato, tiramisu, Trebbiano white wine and Chiraz red wine.
The evening will start at 5:00 p.m. with static displays of the rich history of Air Cadets in Manitoba. Every squadron that wishes space to share their memories will be accommodated. The meet and greet starts at 6:00 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. The live auction will follow dinner.
